The Cabernet for this wine was sourced from hand selected vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Santa Maria, and Lodi. Aromas of cherries and black currant jam on the nose merge with blackberry, red plum and cedar wood. Subtle oak shadings linger across a generous finish. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, after a cold soak of 2 days. The wine is then placed into mature French oak barrels to round and soften the youthful wine for 16-18 months. A cool and wet spring delayed harvest dates by up to three weeks, and multiple passes needed to be made to ensure high quality, fully ripe grapes.
