Wine Advocate 91 points - The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet les Folatieres 1er Cru, which is coming from two parcels, has a more exotic bouquet than the Champs Gain at the moment with hints of peppermint and licorice underlying the citrus fruit. The palate is vibrant right from the start with citrus lemon, orange zest and white peach. There is clearly great weight here, fine length and precision, and it constitutes one of the best 2013s from Francois Carillon.
91-93 Points (Dec 2014)
Vinous 89 points - Pale, bright yellow. Buoyant aromas of yellow fruits. Fat, sweet and easygoing, if perhaps a bit obvious for Folatieres. Carillon noted that the 2013s gained in finesse during their months in cuves but I find that this wine lacks the cru’s typical subtlety and floral lift. A touch phenolic on the back end.
