Although a mere mile away from Mount Eden as the crow flies, the terroir here is different and it shows. Medium ruby color, complex, earthy red fruit aromas, this wine has suave texture on the palate with richness and balanced elegance. This is a classic Pinot Noir reflective of its unique peak.
Wine Enthusiast 90 points - Sour cranberry juice aromas mix with wet slate, strawberry soda, black olives and charred beets on this bottling from historic Mount Eden’s more affordable series. It’s crisp and clean once sipped, with ripe cranberry fruit picking up oregano and marjoram herbs and a nice tartness on the back end.  (Dec 2014)

Wine Spectator 88 points - Intense, with a dusty savory edge to the dried berry, anise, cedar, loamy earth and crushed rock nuances. Ends with firm, gritty tannins. This wine begs for some cellar time. Drink now through 2024. 1,828 cases made. -JL  (Jun 15 2015)

This Pinot Noir is a mosaic of different selections and clones grown at Domaine Eden: Dijon clones 777, 667 and 828 reside alongside the historic California selections Mount Eden, Calera and Swan. Each parcel is farmed to our strict standards of sustainability, dry farming and low yields.
Wine maker notes
We use the same exacting methods employed for the Estate wines: natural indigenous fermentations - both primary and secondary, French Burgundy barrels, no fining, filtration or any other manipulation.
