Buy Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Wine Spectator 93 points - Beautifully crafted, pure, rich and complex, featuring tiers of red and black fruit, cherry, raspberry and spice, gaining subtle oak and fresh earth details. The fine-grained tannins deliver backbone and grip, imparting an accent of dried herbs and oak on the graceful finish. Drink now through 2026. 7,197 cases made. -JL  (Nov 15 2013)

Wine Advocate 95 points - The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc) exhibits a dense purple color, more tannin, structure and spice, terrific richness and plenty of black currant, vanillin and loamy soil characteristics. Given past track records, this full-bodied, impressive Reserve should easily age for 25-35 years.  (Oct 2013)

Wine Enthusiast 90 points - It’s easy to use the word ’huge’ to describe this Cabernet, which contains smaller amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It immediately takes over the palate with ripe, opulent cherry pie, blackberry tart, cassis liqueur, green olive and oak flavors. The tannins are very strong, the most powerful of Mondavi Cabernets in years. Which leads to the question of ageability. Where’s this wine going? On the negative side is high alcohol, which gives it a burn. So drink it over the next 5-6 years. (Dec 2013)

Robert Mondavi established his namesake winery in 1966 with a vision to create Napa Valley wines that would stand in the company of the world’s finest. He chose To Kalon Vineyard in the heart of the Napa Valley as the home for Robert Mondavi Winery. This first-growth vineyard, located in Oakville, California, is renowned for producing some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world, as well as for its Sauvignon Blanc grapes, from which Mr. Mondavi crafted his signature wine, Fume Blanc. Along with To Kalon Vineyard, Robert Mondavi Winery sources grapes from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards, including Stag’s Leap (Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc) and Carneros (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay). Mr. Mondavi believed that wines should reflect their origins, that they are the product of the soil, the climate, and the careful stewardship of those precious resources. He also believed in combining the newest techniques and technology with time-honored winemaking traditions. Our winemaking and vineyard teams are proud to carry on our founder’s mandate to always strive higher, to pursue Robert Mondavi’s goal of excellence with the same passion and innovative spirit, moving forward with programs that break barriers and open new frontiers.
