Deep ruby color and a direct fragrance of red and black berries, spice and pepper lead into this wine's concentrated palate of sweet, ripe, crushed fruit and moderately firm tannins offset by a fresh, balanced acidity
Wine Spectator 91 points - Dried cherry and steeped raspberry fruit are well-balanced by tobacco leaf and leather accents. A fleshy, welcoming texture is supported by a strong, integrated acidity through the herb- and spice-lined finish. Drink now. 3,000 cases made.-AN

Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2012 Moulin-a-Vent comes from 40-year-old vines and sees 40% new oak. It has a bright and more feminine bouquet than the Morgan, red cherries and cranberry fruit soaring from the glass. The palate is well-defined with crisp tannins, good depth, but feels just a little pinched on the finish at the moment. Still, this is a fine Moulin-a-Vent. Drink now-2022. (Jun 2014)
Châteaudes JacquesMoulin-à-Vent is a solidly structured, full-bodied,deepgarnetwinewhichshows intense aromasof iris, roses, spices andripe redfruit. The impressionsonthepalate are fleshy, velvety and tender, finishing with a firm acidic crispness and long, pronounced final.
"Dark and smoky, with toast and vanilla notes leading the way for velvety-textured blackberry fruit followed by notes of cocoa, dark licorice and mineral on the finish. Drinks like a Vosne-Romanée. Drink now through 2009." 91 Points Wine Spectator
