Leblon traps a light "rummy" bouquet with fruity and tequila-like herbal notes. Leblon has a smooth entry, with pleasing layers of fruity cane and spices; all in a clean silky texture. With a creamy full body, Leblon exhibits a spice box with toasty vanillas that create a crème brulé and for some, hints of butterscotch. The spirit warms in the mouth and leaves a gentle sweetness in the middle of the tongue that flowers as it lasts, much like a refined tequila. For such a lively spirit, the warm, velvety finish is a lasting surprise. Leblon mixes extremely well with almost any fruit and couples nicely with other ingredients from herbs to liqueurs. It can also be sipped chilled as it is the most pure of the white cachaças.
Wine Enthusiast 90 points - Inside the tall, distinctive lime-green bottle, look for a faintly yellow-tinged liquid with pungent, ripe tropical fruit aromas. Though it’s a little intense straight up, with brown sugar sweetness fading into a long fruity finish, it stands up well in a long drink with soda, like a mojito. - K.N. (Jun 2011)

Our Cachaça, Leblon, is distilled at our own state-of-the-art distillery, Maison Leblon, in the fertile Minas Gerais region. Our approach to Cachaça is unique: Gilles Merlet, our master distiller, approaches the fermentation, distillation, and finishing of Cachaça like a fine wine. Using techniques from his native land of France, Gilles manages every detail of the creation - from the hand-selection of the cane and his proprietary fermentation approach, to the Alambique batch-distillation and light-casking, triple-filtering, and master-blending. Gilles rests the final distillate in XO Cognac casks from France, giving Leblon an extra-special touch. As a result, Leblon Cachaça has a delicate, fruity nose, combined with an ultra smooth finish. So, now that you understand what Cachaça is, how to say it, and how to use it, we invite you to explore this wonderful new world.
92. Faint straw color. Coconut custard, baked apple, and mellow spice aromas. A round, smooth entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body of coconut cream cake, vanilla bean, banana leaf, and peppery spice. Finishes with a long, smooth white toffee, spicy baked banana and oily mineral fade. Very nice and rounded. (Beverage Tasting Institute)

Wine maker notes
The Leblon distillery, Maison Leblon, is located in Patos de Minas, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Leblon is an artisanal distillery where the cachaça is single-distilled from the juice of fresh-pressed sugar cane in small batches using alambique copper pot stills. The cane grows in high altitude micro-climate and is renowned for its taste and flavor. The cane is pressed within 3 hours of harvesting to guarantee freshness. Each single batch of Leblon is lightly rested in XO cognac casks for an average of 6 months and the batches are then blended to create our unique complexity and consistency: the award-winning taste of Leblon. From the fields to the bottle, care is taken throughout the process to ensure quality at each step. Each step of the process is overseen by Master Distiller Gilles Merlet, a famous master distiller from the Cognac Region of France. The following are the high points of our production method:
-Temperature controlled fermentation using proprietary yeasts
-Fermentation duration: approximately 18 hours
-Only the "heart of the heart" of the distillation is taken (from 42-45 degrees ABV)
-Triple filtered according to proprietary French cognac techniques
-Bottled in Brazil and France in luxurious cosmetic glass bottle
