Color: Deep ruby red Aroma: Elegant and refined, with spicy aromas Palate: Fruity flavors of red berries with spicy undertones. Firm with dense tannins, well-balanced acidity and a long and persistent finish.
James Suckling 93 points - This is polished and beautiful with flower, dark fruit and stone character. Full body, integrated tannins and a refined and persistent finish. Some black truffle character in the aftertaste. Classy wine. Cabernet and sangiovese. Better in 2015.  (Oct 2014)

Wine Spectator 90 points - This balanced, harmonious red delivers black cherry and blackberry flavors, along with earth, leather and tobacco accents. Firm and taut, yet fresh, with a hint of mineral. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2025. 9,000 cases made.-BS  (Jun 15 2015)

Vinous 90 points - An attractive, mid-weight red, the 2010 Carmignano Villa di Capezzana is built on energy and persistence. Floral and savory notes, smoke and leather wrap around an expressive core in this pretty Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The layered finish is inviting, but the tannins could use another year or two to soften.  (Oct 2014)

Wine maker notes
This is the estate’s historic wine and is highly representative of the qualities of Carmignano. D.O.C. status was re-obtained in 1975 and D.O.C.G. in the 1990’s. It is produced from Sangiovese (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). D.O.C.G. wines are matured for over one year in tonneaux and then laid down for a further twelve months in bottles.
