Clear ruby, medium intensity. The nose is clean, with aromas of black berries and cherries. The nose is of medium (+) intensity and complexity. The palate is dry but fruit forward, with medium (+) alcohol at 14%, medium to medium (+) acidity and medium to medium (-) tannins. It is smoother and rounder than the 2011 and is perhaps even more quaffable, with pleasant, sweet baking spice on the medium (+) long finish. This is a nice, soft, balanced wine which is good by itself or with light foods. Drink now through 2016.
