"Deep garnet purple colored, the 2014 The Chook Shiraz / Viognier is scented of crushed black cherries, wild blueberries, dried herbs, tar and chocolate box with a floral / red rose lift. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with youthful black fruits and a peppery edge, finishing with good length and freshness."
" The Chook Shiraz Viognier is sourced from the premium grape growing region of McLaren Vale in South Australia. The seamless integration of Shiraz co-fermented with Viognier, generates a seductive nose of apricots, spice and ripe berries. The palate is smooth and full of rich flavor, perfect for a long lingering finish of delightfully soft Shiraz fruit, but not without the punch.
As the bigger sibling of Woop Woop, The Chook once again represents a collaboration between Ben Riggs the wine maker at Pennyís Hill, and Tony Parkinson, proprietor of Pennyís Hill.
