Wine Spectator 89 points - Very solid, with tapenade, tobacco and black cherry notes rolled together and carrying through the briar-framed finish. Shows good grip for the vintage. Drink now through 2016. 58 cases imported.-JM  (Apr 30 2014)

Vinous 91 points - Bright ruby with a black core. Cassis, licorice, cocoa and violet on the enticing nose. Dense and discreetly sweet, showing a silkier texture and more depth than the Gabare. An almost saline quality contributes to an impression of extract. Finishing with ripe, granular tannins, this cabernet from 60-year-old vines is quite complex and long.  (Dec 2014)

Domaine Grosbois is located in the heart of the Loire Valley in Chinon, France. The estate has been family owned since 1820, and is currently in the hands of skilled proprietor Nicolas Grosbois. The vineyards are comprised of 13 plots that were designated in the 15th century and to this day remain. A range of seven Cabernet Franc wines are crafted based on the unique plots. Nicolas wholeheartedly believes in organic agriculture and has worked to transition the farm. His 2009 2011 vintages are Ecocert converting to organic agriculture with his 2012 vintage, marking the first official Ecocert organic certification.
