James Suckling 90 points - A fresh and clean white with sliced lemon, apple and lime aromas and flavors. Full body, bright acidity and a crisp finish. Drink now. Screw cap.
Wine Enthusiast 90 points - Medium-crisp, this wine delights in stone fruit and lime zest, with a taste of fuzzy apricot dominant on the palate. Showing a balance of body and weight, it wraps things up with a layer of acidity.
Located in Napa Valley, Silverado Vineyards was established in 1981 by Ron and Diane Miller. Over time,
the Miller family has acquired a rich and diverse mosaic of six sustainably farmed vineyards, each
selected for its terroir and flavors it contributes to the wines. Silverado's focus on quality includes
significant and continuous improvements in the cellar beginning with their early use of extended
maceration (a common technique today), and their recent investment in customized, small, stainless
steel barrels for its Chardonnay program. Winemaker Jon Emmerich graduated from the University of
California, Davis in 1987 with a BS in Fermentation Science. He is only the second winemaker to serve at
Silverado and during his tenure, Jon has grown Silverado's reputation for quality and consistency.
|The Stags Leap District is one of the smallest, yet most renowned, wine growing regions in Napa Valley. Here, Silverado Vineyards has been quietly producing world-class wines from their state-of-the-art winery for over 20 years. With grapes sourced almost entirely from Silverado’s family-owned estate vineyards, these hand-crafted wines are created in small lots with extreme care. They express richness, elegance and age-worthiness. Silverado wines are unique – one-of-a-kind blends of location, philosophy and winemaking style.
The Mediterranean-style stone winery, established in 1981, stands on a knoll above the Silverado Trail in the heart of the Stags Leap District. Silverado is a legendary name from the early mining days. Today it symbolizes the Miller family’s long term commitment to the future of Napa Valley wine.
