Ultimate Beverage Challenge 90 points - Toasted and nutty on the nose with unmistakable traces of lime, honeysuckle, and marmalade. Rich and honey-tinged on the palate with creme brulee, tropical mango, and minerals uniting on a fruity finish. Fresh and delicious. (Jun 2016)
Wine Enthusiast 88 points - This well-made, widely distributed wine will serve a range of purposes and palates. Spiky acidity meets a muddle of apple, caramel and baked overtones of pineapple seasoned in nutmeg. Medium-bodied and food-friendly, it offers a long finish.
We barrel fermented a bit less than half of this wine, and aged that portion in barrel for 9 months, offering the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the other half to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass. Enjoy this lively chardonnay now and over the next couple of years.
