Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2013 Chardonnay from Clos du Val has a nice, creamy, subtle style, with some attractive citrus, touches of honey and tangerine oil, medium body, good, fresh acidity, not a lot of oak, and a medium-bodied finish. Drink it over the next several years. (Dec 2015)
Light gold in color with a green tinge, our 2004 estate Chardonnay exhibits aromas of pear and pineapple balanced with notes of bread crust and some smoke. Its clean tropical fruit, citrus and green apple flavors are prominent on the palate, yet integrated with small amounts of toast. A medium-full bodied wine, this Chardonnay shows excellent balance, fresh acid and a clean, crisp finish.

After a worldwide search to purchase vineyard properties from which to craft world-class Bordeaux and Burgundy varietals, 150 acres in the now legendary Stags Leap District and 180 acres in the cool Carneros District were chosen, from which Clos Du Val Winery, a true Napa Valley icon, was born.
