Color - Amber
Bouquet - Intense aromas ofdried nuts.
Taste - Full-bodied and balanced. Lightly sweet, not too dry nor too sweet.
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 87 points - Decadent and savory on the nose with buttered walnuts, baking spice, molasses, dried tobacco, and green olive. A touch sweet, with dark chocolate covered almond, ripe mango, piquant spice, and mushroom on the palate with a rich, nutty finish. (Jul 2015)
Medium sweet indeed, but not too sticky when chilled. The tanginess of Amontillado still comes through, resulting in a slightly bittersweet palate. Sweet baked apples. Some dried apricot and raisins, with soft hints of walnuts. Soft traces of tannins as well, but overall a bit muted.
|Wine maker notes
|A distinctive blend of Palomino and Pedro Ximenez grapes. Aged in oak casks for 6 years in the traditional Solera method.
|A perfect aperitif, it also pairs well with appetizers.
